Ok, then the game packaging is clearly mislabeled as misleading. I've bought MANY games and if what you say is true, the package should have said something of the lines of 'Original not required to play' or 'Includes all content from Diablo III'. They don't.they say in extremely clear terms that the original Diablo III game is included. Not that just the content from the original.
It's great to see the steel finally rising. I was working in Suzhou during the spring and summer and I'd often pass the site wondering when it was going to get out of the hole. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.
I don't care if you're a heavy player.playing games doesn't make one intelligent.you seem to be proof of that. I'd like an official response on this. 07:26 PMPosted by LOL, the original is included. Its Act 1-4 and most of the patterns and such still there. Adding Act 5, Adventure mode, and the Crusader class is the new stuff. After playing the story mode, their inclusion of the crusaders into the lore in the beginning would make it difficult for the game to determine that you can see that and they can't.
So Blizzard has kept it separate. After searching and investigating, I believe it is just a case of misleading (and actually downright false) advertising. The fact that they say it includes Diablo III and actually include a picture of the original game box AND the fact that they go so far as to label it as a BONUS, would definitely lead one to assume they can play the original Diablo III which would include being able to play multiplayer with those who only own the original Diablo III. Unfortunately, I purchased the game for my son so he could play with a few friends who only have the original. Will be returning to Gamestop tomorrow and will purchase the original.
Should Gamestop refuse to accept the open return, the false advertisement on the packaging will be sufficient to get the charge reversed for the purchase. Found the official answer I was looking for here. 08:45 PMPosted by Lol. You are downgrading your kid's game because you don't know how expansions typically work. Expansions don't typically stop you from playing with friends just because they don't have the expansion. You can usually still play with said friends through the content that they do have.
That's only true if the original game is patched with expansion assets. Like, for wxample, World of Warcraft: a player who never upgraded to the current expansion is still able to see the pandas, new armor, new mounts, etc.
Because his client has all the data to display them. Imagine a RoS player trying to join a friend's vanilla D3 game with his shiny new crusader. Since there is no data for the crusader on th vanilla version (character model, spell animations, etc.), the game wouldn't know what to do with it. The vanilla version would have to be patched with all the new stuff that the RoS player might bring into the vanilla players's game. Plus, the console itself sees each version as completely separate games, which is why they each have their own sets of trophies/achievements.
We had this problem in the beta builds and it seems to have carried over to the retail build. For some reason, the music in Diablo 3 is extremely low compared to all other sound effects. Even when setting music at 100, and voices / sound effects at around 30-40, the sound effects are explosive and voices booming, yet the music plays at a whisper quiet volume. I dont think this is just a problem with surround sound speaker set ups since i've tested it on a 2 speaker set up, and you can still barely hear the music in the game. The Diablo series has always had amazing soundtracks to go along with their games, so it just strikes me as strange that the third entry has what sounds like a great soundtrack, yet you can barely hear it, no matter the volume settings.
Maybe with this many posts, the thread will stick around long enough for someone to take notice and post solutions. I found I think 3 posts that weren't beta on the issue, and it is driving me insane, since I didn't have this problem in the beta. I've tested on 3 different machines: #1- My rig: asrock z68 extreme3 gen3 lga 1155; i5-2500k, 16gb ram, gtx 460+, win 7 64 Sound effects are LOUD.
Cinematics are normal. Music is virtually non-existent except the occasional 'loud' (less than effects and cinematics, but louder than character banter) music that kicks in for maybe 10-15 seconds (mostly boss situations or on main screen). Character talk seems almost hushed most of the time. No sound settings in game or windows works to resolve issue #2 My old rig: asus m4a88tm /usb3; phenom 2 x4 965 black; 8gb ram; gtx 260, win 7 64 Same as comp 1. #3- My wife's: gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H, athlon 64 x2 (4600); 4gb ram; 9800 gtx+, win 7 64 Music is LOUD.
Sound effects, cinematics, etc all play normal. Well, I think character banter might still be low, but the music is absurdly loud. The only thing I can link between them sound wise is that pc 1 & 2 use hd Audio, while #3 only uses AC97 or whatever. It does seem to be an issue with the channels the sound is being played in. The difference in volume was the sound team's choice, it's no bug. They wanted to have over the top exploding impact sounds for every player hit, which made everything else disappear.
It's not just the music and ambient, the sounds effects themselves are extremely low, when they're not happening in the center of the screen. They are also thrown very far to the left and right, when not happening in the center, because the sound guys took an approach as if the sounds were happening around you, not the character. Even the footstepts aren't centered, which is a bit awkward, but it works. Anyway, with movies and games always having to be louder, more booming and bombastic, they decided it would be all about nuclear explosions when hitting a creature, even if it's just some low-level zombie. The barbarian is extremely annoying in that sense. I get what you are saying, but.no. That isn't the problem.
The problem is that on some machines the music is either dominant, or at the very least regularly audible. With respect to other machines, the music is nonexistent unless you turn music to 100 and sound effects down to 20 (with the exception of a random occasion when it hits the right channel is booms because of the incredible offset in the sound settings). I agree the sound team intended one thing, but it is not working properly and is BUGGED on many systems.
